Vision insurance vs. medical insurance

Vision insurance covers routine exams, glasses and contacts. Medical insurance covers visits for eye health problems such as dry eye, glaucoma, eye infections, injuries and diabetic eye exams. We bill whichever plan fits your visit.

Frequently asked questions

Does vision insurance cover contact lenses?

Most plans include an allowance for glasses or contacts. Some also cover part of the contact lens fitting.

Can I use my vision benefits for designer frames?

Usually, yes. Most plans let you apply your frame allowance to any frame in our optical and pay the difference. We'll confirm what your plan covers.
